Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how plc-tec AG processes personal data in connection with the website www.plc-tec.ch. It has been prepared in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Controller

The controller responsible for the processing of personal data on this website is:

plc-tec AG

Panoramastr. 5

5607 Hägglingen

Switzerland

Email: info@plc-tec.ch

For any questions regarding this Privacy Policy or the processing of your personal data, please contact us at info@plc-tec.ch.

2. Scope of this Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the website www.plc-tec.ch and all subpages operated under this domain. It does not apply to third-party websites that may be linked from our site. plc-tec AG does not use this website to collect personal data beyond what is strictly necessary to operate the site and respond to inquiries.

3. Data Processed When You Visit the Website

3.1 Server Log Data

When you access our website, the web server of our hosting provider automatically records technical information in server log files. This data typically includes:

IP address of the requesting device

Date and time of the request

URL of the requested page

HTTP status code and amount of data transferred

Referring URL (if transmitted by your browser)

Browser type, version, and operating system (User-Agent string)

This data is processed for the purpose of ensuring the technical operation, stability, and security of the website, and to detect and prevent misuse. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in providing a secure and functional website (FADP Art. 31 para. 2 lit. c; GDPR Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f). Server log data is stored for a limited period and then deleted or anonymised.

3.2 Hosting Provider

Our website is hosted by WEBtotal.info (web-total.ch), a Swiss company based in Baden, Switzerland. The website and associated server log data are stored on infrastructure located in Switzerland. No transborder transfer of personal data takes place in connection with hosting.

3.3 Browser Storage (Functional)

Our website uses the WordPress content management system with the Elementor page builder. Elementor stores a small amount of technical information in your browser’s local and session storage (for example, editor state and emoji rendering support). This information is strictly functional, is not used for tracking or analysis, and is not transmitted to plc-tec AG or any third party.

3.4 Cookies

This website does not set any first-party cookies on your device. In particular, we do not use cookies for tracking, advertising, analytics, or profiling purposes. Third-party cookies may be set by YouTube only after you actively interact with an embedded video (see Section 4).

4. Embedded YouTube Videos

Some pages on our website contain embedded videos hosted on YouTube, a service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”).

We use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). This mode prevents YouTube from setting cookies on your device until you actively start a video by clicking the play button. As soon as you start playback, YouTube and Google may set cookies on your device and process personal data — including your IP address, device information, and viewing behaviour — in order to deliver the video and for purposes determined by Google, which may include market research and marketing.

plc-tec AG has no influence over the type, scope, or purpose of the data processing carried out by Google in connection with embedded videos. When you start a video, Google acts as an independent controller under its own privacy terms. For further information on how Google processes your data, please refer to Google’s privacy policy at

https://policies.google.com/privacy

Data transmitted to Google may be processed outside Switzerland and the European Economic Area, including in the United States. The legal basis for the embedding of videos is our legitimate interest in providing multimedia content that illustrates our products and applications (FADP Art. 31 para. 2 lit. c; GDPR Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f). You can avoid this data processing entirely by not starting playback of embedded videos.

5. Contact by Email

If you contact us by email — for example, by clicking a mailto: link on our website — the message is sent directly from your email client to our inbox at info@plc-tec.ch. We process the personal data you provide (such as your name, email address, and the content of your message) solely for the purpose of handling your inquiry and any resulting correspondence.

The legal basis for processing is our legitimate interest in responding to inquiries (FADP Art. 31 para. 2 lit. c; GDPR Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f), or, where the inquiry relates to a potential or existing contractual relationship, the performance of that contract (GDPR Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b).

Email correspondence is retained for as long as necessary to process your inquiry and to comply with applicable statutory retention obligations. Business correspondence may be retained for up to ten years in accordance with the Swiss Code of Obligations (CO Art. 958f). After these periods expire, the data is deleted unless a longer retention period is required by law.

5.1 Email Infrastructure (Microsoft 365)

plc-tec AG uses Microsoft 365 (provided by Microsoft Ireland Operations Ltd., One Microsoft Place, South County Business Park, Leopardstown, Dublin 18, Ireland) as its email service. When you send an email to plc-tec AG, the contents of your message — including headers, body, and any attachments — are processed and stored on Microsoft 365 infrastructure. Microsoft 365 business data is primarily stored in data centres located in the European Union, but may, for technical reasons such as support, backup, or anti-abuse processing, be accessed from or transferred to other jurisdictions, including the United States.

Microsoft acts as a processor on behalf of plc-tec AG under a data processing agreement compliant with GDPR Art. 28, and relies on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework for any transfers to the United States. Further information is available in Microsoft’s privacy documentation at

https://privacy.microsoft.com/

6. No Analytics, Tracking, or Advertising

This website does not use Google Analytics, Matomo, Facebook Pixel, or any other web analytics, tracking, profiling, or advertising technology. We do not build user profiles, we do not use cookies for marketing purposes, and we do not share visitor data with advertising networks.

7. Recipients of Personal Data

Personal data processed in connection with this website is handled only by plc-tec AG and by the processors named in this Privacy Policy (currently: WEBtotal.info for hosting and Microsoft for email services). We do not sell, rent, or otherwise disclose personal data to third parties for their own purposes. Personal data may be disclosed to public authorities if we are legally required to do so.

8. International Data Transfers

The website itself is hosted in Switzerland. However, some processing involves international data transfers, in particular:

Email correspondence processed via Microsoft 365 (primarily within the European Union, with possible access from the United States under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses).

Personal data transmitted to Google when you play an embedded YouTube video, which may include processing in the United States under Google’s own terms.

plc-tec AG takes reasonable measures to ensure that any international transfer of personal data is subject to an adequate level of data protection, in particular through the use of Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.

9. Your Rights

Subject to the conditions set out in applicable data protection law, you have the following rights with regard to your personal data:

Right of access: you may request confirmation of whether we process personal data concerning you and, if so, obtain a copy of that data.

Right to rectification: you may request that inaccurate or incomplete personal data be corrected.

Right to erasure: you may request the deletion of personal data, subject to legal retention obligations.

Right to restriction of processing: you may request that the processing of your personal data be restricted in certain circumstances.

Right to data portability: where processing is based on consent or contract and is carried out by automated means, you may request a copy of your data in a structured, commonly used format.

Right to object: you may object to processing based on our legitimate interests.

Right to withdraw consent: where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time with effect for the future.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at info@plc-tec.ch. We may request proof of identity before responding to a request.

10. Right to Lodge a Complaint

If you believe that our processing of your personal data does not comply with applicable law, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a competent supervisory authority:

Switzerland: Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), Feldeggweg 1, 3003 Bern

European Union: the data protection authority of your country of residence or place of the alleged infringement.

11. Data Security

plc-tec AG applies appropriate technical and organisational security measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse, unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. The website is transmitted via HTTPS (TLS encryption).

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

plc-tec AG reserves the right to amend this Privacy Policy from time to time in order to reflect changes to our processing activities or to comply with legal requirements. The current version of this Privacy Policy, as published on this website, is always the applicable version. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
